After the horn, before anyone left the ice, Todd, or, whoever, even someone off the bench, should have kicked Weber’s ass into next week.

To let anyone do that to your super-star is outrageous! Babcock needs to designate one player to take Weber out. And before the first period of Friday's game is over, so is Weber. (Or whatever game he returns, if he's suspended).

What difference is it really gonna make if they give one/two games to Weber? If this keeps up, Hank won’t make it to game five.

Without an enforcer and/or a couple of tuffs (most needed in the post-season), expect more of the same abuse. It's been a common theme by teams who know that all they have to do is beat them up with no retaliation.

We just can't score even when we have the net wide open (I'd trade Franzen, Hudler and a couple other of our prized European talent for one guy like Steven Stamkos!). Hell even Datsyuk missed an easy tip in and I love Cleary's heart and soul but he hasn't had the touch all year either. Once again we are playing against the refs too but it was pretty even in PP opportunities even though I saw tons of muggings that should have been called. I'm sure Bettman would love to see a team like Trashville at least beat the "mighty" Wings. Wasn't there talk a season or so ago about the rednecks losing their team? We also did not get any puck luck and they certainly did but all in all when you can't score with the opportunity to do so, you will not win. We'll see how deep the conspiracy is with what should be a suspension. If there is not we will realize we are not just underdogs, we are the black sheep and yet we are the fans that fill every other team's arenas when the Wings play on the road. That is obvious by every Lightning / Red Wing game I've attended down here. As I mentioned last night too many times Franzen could have put forth more effort in keeping the puck in the other team's zone and one play cost us a goal (one Jimmy should have had but yet it was still a goal) on the ensuing rush and the other time at the end of the game he made a half assed attempt to get the puck and it was cleared all the way down costing us precious seconds off the clock. I cannot stand players of any sport that look to play like they just can't be bothered! He's got his $5 million for this year, what more does he need? And losing Helm again, that just puts me on the brink of a major depression. Maybe we'll get the bounces Friday. And maybe not? I do hope so.

too add to the conspiracy bit, think about this. For the first time in a long time nashville spent a good amount of money. Historically theyve always given up on their top tier players when they get pricey. Vokoun, zidlicky etc. If they dont get out of the first round this year, for a team that doesnt generate a ton of revenue, itll be a disaster. Add weber being RFA, suter being UFA and radulov being RFA to that, and the fact that they gave up a ton of picks.

You must have someone to protect your stars. He doesn't have to be a goon, but a guy to keep people from doing stupid shit like Weber did. He knows at the most he gets a game. Why not take out our best player.I can't help think this is why our guys for the last 2-3 years are always getting hurt. The accumulation of taking hits and cheap shots for the whole season then during the playoffs where it's usually acceptable for guys to hack and whack with no fear of retribution will take its toll.A man no matter how big or small or tough can only take so much.

I guess I can only reiterate what everyone else has said at this point. That was the worst officiated playoff game I think I've ever seen. That was of course until I watched the Canucks/Kings game. I don't know what the Hell this league is thinking.Call freakin penalties that ARE PENALTIES! There must have been one of their pre-playofff mandates where we tell the officials how to completely change how we call games from the regular season. Usually you expect things to be overlooked in the PO"S but both games I watched were just brutal.I did find it interesting that in the Philly/Pts game though Philly didnt get a PP until about 5 minutes left in the game, hmmm.About the game, I thought the Wings played well enough to win.Give credit to Nashville, they got the breaks we didn't.2 of their goals were lucky fluky bounces(although I kinda thought Jimmy might got that second one but Im not gonna kill em for it).Rinne was very good and made some great saves that were probably the difference.Losing Helm again hurts and I was a little surprised Nyquist wasn't in the lineup.I know Emmmerton has been here the whole year but really if there is achoice,I know who I'm picking.I think if they play the same game same effort and we get some "normal" officiating we should be ok or atleast have a good chance to win even with Franzen floatin around again.AS for Weber, that was a punk bitch move ,kinda like last year with Thornton cheap shoting Datsyuk. Classless, and has nothing to do with hockey.

Poison, if our 4th liner will intentionally injure Weber, Z or Dats will be "killed" on the next shift by their 4th liner.<p>
About the game: I am not that young anymore, but I still cannot talke our team's playoff losses. Especially in a game we played better. Stupid fluky goals. Helm is a huge loss although our PK was great without him. We won special team battle against all odds. We really deserved to win the game. Now no room for error in game 2. And yes, I agree with Attica. The league needs Nasville to advance. If they don't, Suter is gone imo. And next year, Mr.Holland, please ADD a player who can win draws (Gaustad, Malhotra, whoever). Gaustad was the difference yesterday beating Dats in every important draw.

VP we could of had Malhotra for pocket change.

We were terrible on the draw in must win situations. I love Pavel, he's pretty darn good in the faceoff circle but I don't know why Babcock kept letting Datsuyk, who obviously is having an off night on the draw, keep losing key faceoffs. At one point Dats lost I think 4 in a row to Gaustad. When a guy is off, put someone ese in there, Hank, Fil heck even Franzen could win a couple.

I’m not being a wise apple when I ask this; then what is our alternative? Do we just let them get away with it and do nothing? I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner as I’m missing out on several threads and haven’t read half of what has been posted.

Now, having said that, Bert has since “retaliated” and stood up for his team/star(s). The Pred’s know that they will lose their Captain because we do have someone who will go toe to toe with that goon. Tuuz did what he had to do and I believe that changes everything.

Do you think that Todd’s actions did some good? I really do.
