De ja vu Smiley

Strange playing 3 in 3 days and two back to back on the road against the same opponent!

Definitely odd. I would like to see more back to back games against the same team, instead of a team being forced to play an opponent who rested the night before.

This is indeed an oddity though.

I didn't see the whole game but what little I saw of Reneuf was promising. Of course one game isn't much to go on but let's see if he can have a good game back to back.

Howard isn't sharp tonight but then again not many are except a 36 yr old.

Hank is a beast and our MVP the entire season. I feel bad for him as there is no quit in his game.

it's amazing how a bad goal can deflate a fragile team quickly. We saw vintage Howard last night with two terrible goals.

We had some good energy at the start of the game, got 4 or 5 shots very quickly, then we saw good ol Howard on the first goal and then we got deflated, didnt register a shot for the next 20 minutes !

We then gradually look better and boom here come goal number 3...another vintage Howard.

Yesterday Howard didn't feel like playing...

Oh well...it doesn't matter anymore, one thing is for sure now Howard, if not traded before, will be the one left unprotected for Vegas to grab.

They probably won't

Those were backbreaking goals to give up no doubt. This seems to be an issue with both Mrazek and Howard although Howard has been more consistent. They'll make incredible saves but get beat on a weak shot from the blue line or off angle and yeah, those are deflating goals to give up. On one of those Mantha was trailing and you can just tell by his body language it took the wind out of his sail.

Sad to see something we haven't seen in 26 years, the little "e" for being eliminated Smiley

last place in the Atlantic
e - Detroit

I look at the standings now and wonder how the Wings can wind their way down to # 2-3 in the draft order. Unlikely, but possible.

I thought the goals were a bit on the weak side but, guys, how many times do we see the pucks going through our D men, giving the goalie very little time to react? Our D is horrible at blocking shots. They'd be much better off just getting the hell out of the way.

Well with Ericsson hurt we're putting less pucks in our own net Smiley

Our defense is actually better with XO and Jensen playing prominent roles. Add Brendan Smith, eliminate Kron and E and it's a pretty good mobile defense still lacking a real top pairing guy obviously.
