Noticed the same thing Pierre. Likes to flash the glove - just like Patrick Roy did in the playoffs - on a reasonably routine shot.

I also don't like his tendency to "eye-laser burn through" the defenseman who coughed up a puck that led to the goal.

I has such great hopes for this guy Pierre going right back to his Jr. days. What has happened ? This is another guy who has gone backwards with these coaches. I know there are goalies who look great for a few years and then fade to black after years 3-4, but I really thought Petr had the right stuff. A little cocky - but that's OK too.

Like you comment on - he's not the same goalie he was - he's playing differently aside from the fact that his confidence level has to be low. I'm just feeling like this is yet another Wings player who has been told he "knows nothing about the game" and "here's how we play in Motown".

I think most people on this board remember the bad days.
This was the worst of the games of the Dead Thing era.

Wings will not be a below average team for long. It may take a couple of years to turn this around but unlike the 70s they don't trade away 1st round picks for washed up alcoholics. (recall Don Murdoch for 2nd overall pick who turned out to be Brian Bellows)

Wings will be fine down the road but it's definitely a bump in the road this year.

My concern is that the coaching is inadequate to work well with a lot of these up and coming young guys. Blashill has shown blatant favouritism toward older players and openly criticized young guys for less frequent mistakes than some of the experienced players.

I don't want the kids coddled but there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. It starts with being fair and keeping your mouth shut unless you plan to be even-handed about it.

Been there and lived through Dead Things era v1.0 and didnt stop me from being a fan. I remember getting our asses kicked regularly. It was cool being in the Detroit area because we could get CBC ch 9 so we got a lot of Toronto games too.

We're about to enter Dead Things era 2.0 if we don't shit can this pathetic excuse of a NHL head coach.

I was rooting for DRW since 1985, but the games were not shown on TV in USSR, so it was not serious rooting. I started seriously watching around 1994/95 (and only those games that were shown on ESPN as there was no NHL central ice those days), so technically I started watching during the glorious days. So watching this now is tough.

So Vadim you are not a real fan...sorry.

You see, real fan has to have gone through Dead thing...

So send back to me or Shawn your membership card...

NB

To get your card back you need to Watch the game january 2nd 1971 when the Wings lost 13-0 to Toronto ! Coached by Ned Harkness.

If you can Watch the entire game without having a heart attack you'll get your card back.

thank you.

Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

I think living through that was what made the 96 cup win so special and the 97 back to back the icing on the cake. No one else did it since we did and we should have did it in 08 an 09...09 was the beginning to the end Smiley

I'm not gonna lie, I hate losing but if the team competes hard and are in games I can still enjoy the competition but it is somewhat depressing thinking the first time in 25 years we not playing for a purpose for what 40 games or so.
