For fucks sake. It was a four and four and it looked like we were two men short. They fucking controlled every aspect of play and of course scored. I do believe I have seen enough for a season. This team is a major disappointment in my life. The fact that there have been no significant trades that have panned out shows that management hasn't a clue either. Why don't we have an elite goaltender? Why don't we have a goal scorer? Why don't we have a defense? Cripes I thought we were the Detroit Red Wings but we are not...we are fuck, I don't know what we are but it ain't a winning hockey team that is for sure.

Poor defense led to the first two Jet goals.
Good on the boys to get it tied up.

It took until the 10 minute mark in the third to generate some offense
PP time for the Wings and they really could use one here.

Another veteran move by none other than the captain taking a slashing penalty with the game on the line. What an asshole.
Luckily it didn't come back and bite us in the ass.

Glad to get the two points but the team wasn't impressive against a slumping Jet team.

Rangers will be a much tougher test and the Leafs are going with a youth movement so they have nothing to lose.

Mrazek played well enough to win.
It seems like the team plays better defense when Howie is in net. They need to start to do that with Mrazek if they expect to get into the playoffs.

After a poor start - a great result ! Great save by Mrazek that eventually went off the crossbar - they didn't mention that but it was literally a game saver - because one point wasn't an option...

Larkin looked effective again, maybe Abby's going to get streaky (?). Great play by Tatar to set up Abby.

We are going to need that kind of effort without the first period brain fart.

There's no team left that we play against that can't beat us - and there's not many teams we can't beat if we play well. Gut Check time boys. We'll soon separate the boys from the men.

Overall - you can't be too disappointed with a 2 point game. Let's see if they can build on this against the Rangers.

Pierre - we don't fare well usually in afternoon games ? Seems to me we're sub 500.

I'm not so much impressed with the win but that Detroit had their sticks up and were inciting action today. Pretty much everything a Jet did to a Red Wings was retributive which is certainly a change.

It was good to see. But Dats took a deliberate shoulder to the face in the offensive corner around the start of the third. He usually sticks up for himself pretty well, but he looked kind of dazed at the time. t I am seeing a few more liberties of late with Dats and Zee and can't really say I'm liking it. For christ sakes - AA was at it the other night - is this what we've come to ?

some notes...

Horrible game for the most part..isnt it ?

I was ready to throw away everything watching the first period and how easy it was for the Jets to skate around our pylons.

They were skating we couldn't, they were hitting we couldn't, not even Smith who played a soft game like i counldnt believe.

Mrazek played well, very well, specially late in the game.

Z was absolutely terrible, true liability out there. He was a pylon on the second goal, got a bad penalty late in the game out of frustration of his own game...but the worst he was playing the more icetime Blash gave him., same for Dats who was not that much better.

Tats probably played one of his best game in a while...but once we got the go ahead goal he got rewarded..with the bench ! And who was on the ice after ? Yes the vets and specially Z who look so slow its embarassing to Watch, and not intense at all.

Obviously if Blash thinks our potiential wins comes with more icetime to the vets (by vets i'm talking those who cant skate anymore; Z, Kroner, E and sometimes...dats !, tonight it didnt look particularly good) he is dead wrong and we are doom. Tonight it was Gus, Tats, Larks who woke the team up late in the third, because they can move.

This team is nervous, the confidence hit rock bottom. This thing is mental and i don't know if we can get out of this funk.

By the way just look at Larkin's goal, keep an high on big buff on the play, you think he looks like a 9m defensemam ?? He look like the player i'm not crazy about. He is intimidating, strong and that's it.

One silly question for you folks...why the white jersey ?? We just lost 3 straight games wearing that jersey !! why the need to wear it tonight ??

Anyway..funk or not its two incredible points...lets move on the saturday against the Rangers.

We got behind, we sucked, we got puck luck to get us back into the game. We got 2points and really important as regulation win. We'll need this as a tie breaker.

We did NOT play good at all and quite frankly a pathetic performance for a team acting like they care about making the playoffs.

Every game left is a must win game.

Good comeback victory, important 2 points. Nice to see good performances by Larkin, Mrazek and Abby. Throughout the game though I kept thinking that we are playing a team that is not even in the playoff picture and we are not better than them in any facet of the game.
I was also listening to NHL network in the intermission and they were saying what most are saying for the last 3-4 years. That we do not have a true top pair dman who will make our transition game going. And thatís the biggest problem in DRW organization.
And oh man, it was scary to watch Z yesterday although there was no slash. He just put his stick on the guy's arm and it was 100% embellishment. But he should not put a stick anywhere near the opposing dman arm in the offensive zone with 90 seconds to go in the game.

Even better i think Z shouldn't be on the ice with 90 seconds left...

We haven't had this since #5 retired. We put way too much stock in Kronwall who isn't worth mentioning in the same sentence. We started tanking as soon as he came back into the lineup. He's not a good defender not good on the power play. Kronwall is not a top paring guy in my eyes today. 3 goals, 17 assists for 20 points with a -11. These guys are not kids anymore.

We need to quit trying to put the team on #13, #40 and #55's backs. They are aging stars. We need younger leadership and we need to start relying on them. When contract expires for the 3 listed you don't renew them.

Its time to turn the fucking page on Red Wings past....we've been living in the past way too l0ng

Did anyone else see Larkin heading down the runway there with five minutes or so left on the clock? Obviously I hope he's not hurt.
VPalmer, that move of Zetterberg's looked a lot like a slash from my seat. He has taken too many untimely penalties lately as has Kronwall.
