If my memory serves me well this is not a friendly building...we need a strong effort, the Rangers are also fighting for a playoffs spot.

Well, Pierre, that's how I would describe the Joe this season. I think I'd rather take my chances on the road. Seriously, why are the Wings playing so poorly at home?

this is the 64,000 dollars question..

When the odds say that the Wings can not loose...they will. On the road we don't have the pressure to win at all cost, therefore our play is more relax, more focus.

True, less pressure means they are more relaxed and fluid in their play. However, the pressure is on to win now, given their position in the standings.

I wish Babs was less stubborn and just would let the kids like Mrazek play more important roles at times. Having played goal yourself, what is your take on Mrazek? I see him as a young Dom, to a degree, and I really like his poise when playing the puck. That's one area where Jimmy continually puts himself and the team at a disadvantage.

His best asset is his confidence. He is cocky and he likes to challenge the shooter...sometimes i bit too much.

He still has a few things to learn, like not to over challenge the shooter. His lateral movements are not the greatest. He needs to work on the quickness of his movements from side to side. Shot coming from an angle (like face off circle)is a challenge to him, he overcommit sometimes and loose his net.

The best example ? look at Carey Price, the way he moves in his goal is poetry in motion. Put Mrazek head on top of Price's body and you have the perfect goalie !

Didn't it take price like 4 or 5 years to be worth a goalie though?

The road vs home fifferedce: only thing I spot is coaching. On road, babs will double shift top 6, mix lines. At home, straight 4 lines. He also has tended to give opponents matchups they like.

Rangers are a 1 line team like Detroit is right now. Depending a ton on d and goal to survive.

I hope its true that sather wants to trade csllahan for stuff. After all, his former second line got sent to Columbus for nash.

..."Didn't it take price like 4 or 5 years to be worth a goalie though? "

--Yeah. But technically Price was always great. Its the mental aspect of the game that disturbed Price's progress. His confidence has been fragile at time.

Stephen Waite is obviously doing a good job "fixing" Price'S mind and mental preparation.

And the hits just keep on coming... Andersson is out and Emmerton is called up.

So lemme see, they have Z and 3 AHLers up the middle... marvelous. Smiley

Well, whatever doesn't kill ya makes you stronger... right?

Perhaps a 4-2 Wings victory (with an empty netter) will do.... or, not.

btw= this injury 'thing' is all on Babs... or is it Holland... wait, what?

I don't want to jinx him, but this is the best I've seen Howard play so far. It might only be the Rangers but it's a road game against a conference foe.
Howard has made a couple of key saves and looked in good position and in control in the game to date.
Hope this continues for him.

Both goalies have been excellent so far tonight.

What bugs me is that most of our injuries came unnoticed ! meaning during idle days, rarely live while watching a game.

Strange..they should cancel every "in between games" practices.

Best game I've seen in a while. Fast paced - outstanding goaltending (both ends) and LOTS of scoring opportunities. We survived that second period - nice job Jimmy !!! Let's hope we can get a goal or two in the third and take home a couple from this ! Good effort from the Wings all around I'd say - hate to lose another like Anaheim the other night. The kids are flying too !!!

Wings got to pinch in now with just over two minutes left and down 1-0

Losing 1-0, 2-0 makes no difference. Not getting enough offense the last few minutes. Take the chance defensemen.

Unfortunate bounce...what a bummer.

May be a moot point, you don't win many games in which you don't score.

2:00 left, pull Howard and give it all you got...we're all counting on you Smiley
